Bringing Design to Girls Who Code

Design Opportunity

Mentor local high school girls in coding activities and working on a coding project.

Quick Facts

The Details

Role & Activities

I worked with juniors and seniors at a local school to help them learn how to code and work on a coding project. I taught the student about human-centered design, and helped students concept idea for app to help them stay better informed about school activities using human-centered design methods to identify a problem, write and conduct user interviews, plan a project, wireframe, and start coding in a customized “Intro to Python” course.

Impact

The club started developing their app and presented their progress to the Governor of Maryland at a state-wide Girls Who Code event at the statehouse in Annapolis at the end of the school year.
